Like most teenagers, Chiyo Sakura is faced with the daunting task of confessing her crush. It was on her first day at Roman Academy that she ran late, and Umetarou Nozaki saved her. His act of kindness made an impression on her, and she started developing feelings for him. In their second year of high school, Sakura finally musters up the courage to confess to Nozaki after school in a classroom. Little does she know, Nozaki is actually a well-known shoujo manga artist who goes by the name "Sakiko Yumeno." While he is celebrated for his ability to capture girls' emotions, he has no practical experience with love or relationships. Nozaki misunderstands Sakura's confession, mistaking her for a fan seeking his autograph instead. This sets off a chain of misinterpretations, leading to Sakura eventually becoming his manga assistant. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun follows Sakura as she tries to express her love for Nozaki, all while helping him with his manga and encountering his quirky assistants who also attend Roman Academy.
